The g's design director is renowned hat-designer, Philip Treacy, who is a native of Galway. His special touch is evident everywhere in the hotel with the emphasis on luxury and glamour being carried throughout.
The emphasis on luxury and glamour is carried through to the exclusive gSpa, created and managed by ESPA, the world leader in creating fabulous lifetime spas. ESPA at the g is Ireland's first "urban" spa, an oasis of calm and relaxation.
The exuberant spirit of Galway has been captured in the g. From its strikingly contemporary exterior to the warm Irish welcome waiting inside, first impressions are that the g is a fitting celebration of Galway's unique character. The extensive use of glass on the waterside of the g ensures panoramic views across the Lough Atalia.
The central foyer is an important feature of the g, extending to over 1,800 square meters and including three individually styled and themed lounges and a signature restaurant, all with the distinctive Philip Treacy touch.
All in all, the g achieves a delicate counterbalance between contemporary design and traditional details, such as the two reclaimed 19th century fireplaces in the foyer. The effect is to offer a glamorous yet sublimely comfortable 21st century hotel experience.

The g offers a total of 98 guest rooms including one presidential suite, three corner suites and 30 junior suites. The remaining 62 rooms are of either superior (30sq m) or deluxe standard (36 sq m). Whichever room or suite is chosen, guests will enjoy sensational bathrooms, many with showers built for two, and cutting-edge in-room entertainment.

It is located on the upper two floors of the hotel and includes a 'secret' bamboo garden on the roof. It includes heat treatment rooms, a vitality pool and a glass pavilion.
The meeting and conference facilities include the Event Suite with private break out area catering for 100 delegates. The boardroom is designed to facilitate meetings up to 20 delegates and there are 4 smaller event rooms for syndicate style meetings.
