Marrakech is well-known as the "Red City". It is a capital of the mid-southwestern Moroccan economic area at the foot of the Atlas Mountains.
Marrakesh city offers the biggest traditional market (souk) in country and one of the busiest squares of the world, Djemaa el Fna. The city unites an old town - the médina and an adjacent modern city - Gueliz. The Ménara International Airport is a main airport for the city.
Numerous tourists obtain a trip from Marrakech to see the valley of the Ourika River in the Atlas Mountains or the valley of the Draa River in the south near the Sahara desert. Other places that are worth visiting are Middle Atlas Mountains: Waterfalls of Beni Mellal, and the Essaouira on the Atlantic Ocean.
