The hotel is 3 minutes from the 'Père Lachaise Cemetery': a haven of peace and greenery.
Originally it was a property of the Jesuits, and then in 1804 it was turned into a graveyard by architect Brongniart.
Père Lachaise hosts famous graves: those of Chopin, Jim Morrison, La Fontaine, Daudet, Sarah Bernardt, Colette, Proust, Molière, Champollion ... In 1871, and the Cemetery unfortunately became notorious for the Mur des Fédérés: a wall against which more than 2,000 Commune fighters were shot.
