| About Hotel Baia Palinuro |
Palinuro rises on a hill overlooking a transparent sea of the Cilentana Coast, characterized by the magnificent bays and sea caves. Symbol of Palinuro and of the Natural Arch, the suggestive rock is modelled by the force of the winds. The Palinuro Coast, also accessible from the sea by boat, appears like it did to our ancients with its numberless natural cavities, from the Blue Grotto to Cala Falena, Baia del Buon Dormire and the Natural Arch. Other hills rise from the sea and assume a different colour during the day. The Grotta delle Ossa has an important archaeological interest. It is possible to see the pieces of bones of the fauna that human beings have hunted during several years in the prehistory. Pieces of broken bones are the proof that our ancients extract the bone marrow rich in proteins. The images of these hunting scenes are almost still visible in this marvellous region of Palinuro. Another incredible botanic phenomena is the Primula of Palinuro and the Limonio. The sea bed is considered as a real paradise from the divers, due to its huge variety of sea vegetation such as the coral flowers.
