| About Hostellerie de la Vieille Ferme |
Juste Two hours from Calais, two hours from Paris and nestled in a pretty seaside village between Dieppe and Le Tréport this rambling old Norman hotel is a gem of a place !
Built in 1734, restored in 1922, it offers lovers of Seine-Maritime and the Somme marvellous food and good accomodation just 300 metres from the beach. The surrounding countryside is one of lush fields, forests and river valleys.
The spacious, rustic restaurant specialises in traditional, local cuisine with fine wines and liquers. In the summer, meals may be taken outside on the terrace. At the black of the restaurant a beautiful, terraced garden leads up to the four seperate houses which make up the hotel !
The surrounding area where seascape meets landscape will tempt you with its local beaches, great white cliffs, sailing and swimming facilities, the valleys of the Yères and Bresles rivers and the ports of Le Tréport and Dieppe with their fish and fruit and vegetable markets. To the east the lovely Somme river estuary is famous for its waer fowl and ornothological parks. St Valery sur Somme is the village frome whence William the Conqueror set sail to meet Harold at the Battle of Hastings and which has developed into a lively tourist town whith steam train rides and excellent restaurants.
Rouen and Paris are easy destinations for a day out !
