The interior of the main house was refurbished and decorated to maintain its original high standard and style and continues to provide a perfect setting for its antiques.

The gardens are unique in their variety and natural beauty, with an area of 2.5 hectares full of wonderful examples of rare and old trees. They have also been the home for 45 years of "Colombo", the Quinta's giant tortoise.
The tranquil lake nestled in these mature botanical gardens, provided the origin of the Hotel's name. Amongst the mango trees, in a relaxing area, there is a large heated Swimming pool partially covered, with Bistro, Sauna, Turkish bath and Jacuzzi.
For the more energetic, the all weather surface Tennis Court and a well-equipped Gym, are available. The flora of 'Jardins do Lago' is such a rich and diversity collection that it could rival with any good botanical garden.The garden has a fantastic collection of centenary examples, such as Dracaena Draco from Madeira, Syncarpia Glomelifera from Australia, Cinnamomum Campitora from China / Japan, as well as many fantastic varieties from all over the world as Jacaranda Minosifolia from Argentina, Pandanus Utilis from Madagascar or the Erythrina Abyssimica from Tropical Africa.Many of the trees in the Quinta were planted since the early eighteen-century. The different owners of this Quinta always kept contact with various Botanical Gardens worldwide and invested lots of love and time improving this relaxing and colourful gardens.
