Serra de Estrela Natural Park is located in Portugal's largest mountain range. It stretches from Celorico de Beira to Vide and is the largest natural conservation area in the country. This land of a great beauty is a protected site.
Serra de Estrela Natural Park houses a wealth of wildlife such as mountain thrift, great yellow gentian and juniper. It is also a great place for bird watching since it features black storks, Montagu's harrier, eagle owl, black kite, chough, rock thrush and peregrine falcons.
There is plenty to see and do in Serra de Estrela. It is an area of stunning beauty which landscapes are marked by dramatic crags and ravines. It can be explored by car or by foot since there are several walking trails.
