| About Albergaria O Poejo Boutique Hotel |
The Albergaria O Poejo Boutique Hotel, reopened in December of 2006, after deep works of transformation with the architect António Realinho responsibility`s. The building, dating from the begin 20th century, conserve the tradicional architecture of Alentejo. The new areas included a restaurant/ bar, a library, a shop - office of the workmanship of the chestnut tree in the exterior patio, also rehabilitated. The reception was completely recreated interconnected to the loby with fireplace and Internet zone.
The interiors design of the public areas based itself on combination of old pieces of the Town's factory - somes unique -, strongly interconnected, preserving itself the history of the Santo Antonio das Areias.
So it can be found a calendar of the years 40, as a copper piece of industry.
All the 13 guest rooms are individually designed, have elegant and contemporary furniture, with old pieces restored or village`s paintings, healthy a lot comfortable and cozy. They were equipped with electronic locks, luxury beds, comfy duvets, carpets 100% wool of Portuguese Manufacture, finest Portuguese cotton bed linen, freshly laundered towels also made in Portugal. The bathrooms were equipped with heaters of towels and temperate glass in the bathtubs and walk-in power shower. Robes and slippers are provided for use during the guest's stay.
The restaurant was implanted in a space of a old olive's factory and warehouse maintaining some of his characteristics: in the bathrooms, an old wood door was restored and transformed in mirror. The dinning room exposes a collection of scales of several decades and another industry machines.
It is a small hotel, friendly with attention to detail, serene environment, ideal place for leave to the discovery of the medieval history of the town of Marvão, do walks by the Natural Park of the Serra de S. Mamede, discovery the Mansions XVII century of Portalegre, the Castelo de Vide's Gothic Doors, the Roman City of Ammaia, visit the village's market on Saturdays mornings or simply rest in the esplanade of our patio.
